Fulfilling Our Purpose In Life

By Steve McVey

One of the most persistent questions that people wonder about all over the world is the question of why we are here. "What's life all about?" is the question that people have asked since the beginning of time. It's a noble question and one that doesn't just pop up in our minds without a cause.  The reason we all have that question is that our Father has placed it within us.

Why are you here? You didn't have to be born. Why did our Creator bring us into existence and what is our purpose? It certainly wasn't because He was lonely. Our Triune God was completely fulfilled within Himself. The Father, Son and Spirit could have been perfectly fulfilled by simply enjoying each other for all eternity.

The reason we are here is because of God's generosity. His love couldn't be improved because it never has been nor will be anything less than perfect. Only one thing could cause Agape to be intensified and that was to share it. The Circle of Divine Love that existed forever decided to extend the circle and to bring you into it. The generosity of the Godhead motivated Him to see the blueprint of your lifetime before a single molecule of your existence appeared.

He saw you before He made you. Then, out of His generous goodness and grace He made you and brought you into this world so that He could pour out His love on you. You were created to be loved! That is your life purpose. If we want to fulfill the ultimate reason for our being here, we need to learn to live in the unconditional, irrevocable and unending love of the God who made us.

"But it sounds self centered to say that I exist to be loved," somebody said to me recently. "It's not about me," he continued. "Then what do you think is your purpose?" I asked. "To love Him," my critic answered.

As our conversation continued, I explained to him that it was actually his viewpoint that was self-centered. To suggest that we are here so that we can do something for God, even if it is loving Him, is to make ourselves the hero in the relationship. It is to focus on what we do for Him. That makes it all about us.

No, we are here because of what He has done and continues to do for us. We do love Him, but "we love because He first loved us." Living loved - that's the ultimate in fulfilling our purpose. When we learn to live loved, then and only then, are we able to live lovingly.  To the extent that we receive His love, we will love Him in return and we will love others too.

Why are we here? To share in the Circle of Love. To live out of that Reality as our source of life. It is as we learn to live in that reality that we most honor the One who made us for His own good pleasure.

Biblical Truths We Never
Learned In Church

In this three-night conference, Steve McVey, will present biblical truths that will challenge you to rethink what you've been told and what you may have believed for a long time. The revolution of grace has come into our modern doctrinal temples and is turning over the tables of our dogmas that many of us have believed were biblical doctrines. Some of what we've thought was sacred doctrine is being revealed to have been nothing more than sacred cows.

This conference will be an in-depth study of biblical truths that may change your perspective and your spiritual walk forever. If you are at a place where you are willing to allow the Bible to take precedent over everything else that has shaped your views then this conference is for you.

Session topics for the conference are:

The Truth About God

Much of what many of us has learned about God comes more from a philosophical viewpoint than from what the Bible teaches. In this Thursday night session, we will examine some startling but thrilling truths about how big our God's grace really is and just how far He has gone to express His love to mankind.

The Truth About Ourselves

The Friday night teaching will cause you to better understand how we are to see ourselves in a way that will enable us to fully experience the life our Father intends for us to enjoy. Years of religious barricades that prevent deep intimacy with God will be shoved away by His grace as we examine biblical truth concerning our union with God the Father through Jesus Christ.

The Truth About Others

The attitude most Christians have toward unbelievers is the reason the evangelistic efforts of the modern church are so anemic. This Saturday night teaching will reveal the Father's heart toward those who don't believe and may change the way you see those who don't share your faith. You will leave this conference with a deeper love for those around you who still need to know Jesus.

"Biblical Truths We Never Learned In Church" will be a conference that will set you free from religion and free to express the grace of Jesus Christ through your lifestyle. Space is limited, so register now.

Cost - There is no set fee to attend, but a love offering will be taken

Schedule - The conference will begin each evening at 7:00

Location - Doubletree Guests Suites
(off Highway 41, north of Cumberland Mall)

Dancing With Deity

The grace of our God is greater than most of us have ever imagined. Salvation is not simply a matter of having our sins forgiven and going to heaven. Biblical salvation provides the opportunity for us to literally live our lives from out of the circle of love shared among the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. By the finished work of Jesus on the cross, we have been situated in the loving embrace of our Triune God and find our very existence in Him.

In this series of teachings, Steve McVey covers the panoramic plan of God for all humanity. The teachings in this series begin by focusing on the loving relationship of the members of the Trinity before time and move forward all the way to our resurrection with Jesus Christ.

In the study of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, you will learn that our God isn't angry about man's sin but rushed toward us to remedy the problem. In the teaching on the incarnation of Christ, you will be thrilled to learn how that Jesus has embraced our humanity and has joined Himself to us in our weakness. The sessions in this series dealing with the cross may provide an understanding of the crucifixion you have never even considered until now.

These seventeen sessions don't rehash Sunday School lessons you've already learned, but challenge the listener to rethink some of the assumptions we've held for many years and in rethinking those issues, you may find that you come to a deeper understanding of God's love and grace than you've ever known.

"This is the most comprehensive teaching on God's plan for our lives that I
have done in ten years. Over the past few years, my life has been transformed
by the truths in this series in the same way I was transformed 20 years ago when
I first began to understand the meaning of the grace walk."

When You’re Afraid About A Decision You Have To Make
by Steve McVey

"Please pray for us that we will know the right decision to make,” Larry asked the small group who met in his home. "We believe that taking the job I’ve been offered in Dallas is the right thing, but we want to make doubly sure we aren’t missing God’s will. You know how deceptive the devil can be. I don’t want to be misled by him. The way he deceives us sometimes is so insidious. I don’t want to be fooled. We know he is cunning and we really want to hear from God on this situation.”

As Larry talked, it began to sound like this time had been set aside to honor Satan himself. More was said about the devil’s ability to mislead us than was said about anything else. Of course, there is no doubt that Larry’s sincere desire was to know and do God’s will, but listening to the way he talked, you’d think that the ability of the enemy to deceive us is greater than God’s ability to keep us in His will.

Larry isn’t different from many Christians today who live a life filled with fear that they’re going to do the wrong thing. They tip toe through this world like a scared little girl in a haunted house. I meet them all the time. They say, "Steve, pray for me. Pray that I won’t miss the will of God.” Or, "Satan is so powerful and so deceptive. Pray for me. I don’t want to miss the will of God.” Or, "I want to stay in the center of God’s perfect will. I can be deceived and can make a mess of my life if I go out there apart from God’s will.” They go on and on about the ability of the enemy to deceive them. They’re so scared that they’re going to miss God’s will, that when they do make decisions, they’re always timid and tentative and unsure.

When it comes to making decisions regarding God’s will, many seem to abandon faith altogether. Instead, they express great fear that they’re going to miss it. Their fear so handicaps them, that they sometimes do practically nothing of any real spiritual significance. They’d rather do nothing than take the risk of making a mistake.
Don’t be paralyzed by analysis paralysis. Don’t come to the place of no further progress in your grace walk because of your fear you might make a wrong choice. Do you want to know and do God’s will? Then trust Jesus Christ. Appropriate Jesus Christ as your life, and then … decide! And move forward in faith — not in apprehension and fear, but in faith — saying, "Lord God, thank you that you are my life, and I will trust you to live through me.”

Make your decisions on faith, not fear, and rush into them with confidence that Jesus will enable you.
